This cruise combined excursions with the opportunity to learn about the history and geography of the regions; the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Budapest in Hungary. We especially loved our pre-excursion in Amsterdam and loved the hotel and options for touring We also were excited to sail through the many locks. The ship was clean and beautiful and our stateroom was a great place to watch the world go by from our veranda. Sailing was relaxing when we were ready to chill. Learning about the areas we sailed through with the Program Director's presentation was an added plus. The excursion guides were for the most part extremely knowledgeable and we learned things about various towns that only a native would know. The food was beyond wonderful with choices combining regional favorites with delicious alternatives. The entire staff was helpful, friendly and worked so hard to make our trip memorable. Viking knows how to schedule and make traveling effortless, from ground transportation to airline reservations, to excursion details and activities on board, we felt pampered and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
