The Grand tour fourteen day Rhine & Danube from Amsterdam to Budapest was packed full of great sights and cities. From pickup at the airport to boarding the Modi our embarkation was seamless and we immediately had access to our cabin. The itinerary was packed and full of history but there were ample downtime opportunities. The included daily tours were great and most optional tours were also well worth the purchase. The only negative comment about the tours was the hour of free time before you could get back on the bus. This was too short to do much. It would have been much better to be able to get directly back on the bus if you had another tour OR, have the option for longer free time and a later bus rendezvous if you didn’t need to catch another tour, although understandably this would not have been possible on the day where the ship move on and the tour needed to catch up with the ship.

The crew of the Modi were fantastic and their service was over the top. They were friendly attentive to our every need and remembered our names and preferences from day 1. Food variety and quality was fantastic with every day menu options and daily local specials. Again, the service was fantastic. The Silver spirits package was a fantastic bargain for top shelf liquors and premium local wines although the included wine and beer was good. Last morning bus to the airport and luggage handling was very good but unfortunately at that point we were in the hands of the airlines and their typically mediocre service.
