This was our first Viking Ocean, and we loved the Sky. We booked the Barcelona to Venice segment of the Mediterranean cruise. With approx 1,000 passengers the boat still felt intimate. The crew was amazing, particularly the wait staff and our cabin steward Dickie. We were in Cabin 4036 - which is mid-ship and just a couple of flights of stairs to everything. We had done a Viking river, and the additional amenities on the Sky were much appreciated - more common space, several bars, large indoor pool, along with small outdoor pool. The Spa was very nice, although we did not take advantage of all of the features. There is no-pay laundry on each floor, which could get crowded. Washer cycle buttons are a little confusing, but it was a real plus.

Food options were plentiful - Main Restaurant was very good, as were the specialty restaurant;s Manfredi's (Italian) and Chef's Table (at no additional cost). But specialty reservations are sometimes difficult to get. Check desk as there are no shows. The World Cafe (buffet) was large and had many options for lunch and dinner. Breakfast options were pretty similar over our two week cruise, but there were baked goods, an omelette, pancake and waffle station along with assorted hot and cold items. The Pool Grill had awesome burgers and assorted grill items. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly, learning everyone by name and remembering favorite cocktails after just a few days. And there was Room Service - a huge plus. Used for breakfast a couple of times, which was a nice treat. Never really used cabin coffee maker.

Cabin 4036 was good. Closet was tight up against the bed, and had 2 deep draws, Safe & 3 more draws in hallway. Was able to get some extra hangers, but as we were on for 2 weeks, could have used a few more. I did bring a multi skirt and pants hanger which was a big help. Also hung a shoe holder in closet for shoes, belts, etc. Bathroom was spacious with two drawers and several shelves (with bars) on each side of sink. We had to turn off the heated floor as it was hot in June. Bathroom night light also has low light in hallway outside bathroom. Had a folder which I put in front of hall light as it was too bright. They do not put a top sheet under duvet, but ask steward for one if you sleep hot.
