We have been on two cruises with Viking and had high expectations of the food, accommodation and hospitality of the employees. In particular the waiters and waitresses are the back bone of the tour and they never let us down - particularly Ana and her husband Kaio.
The downside of this particular cruise was nothing to do with the boat, accommodation or the staff but every tour outside the boat which was needed to become imbued with the area involved a significant coach journey.
Despite the above we did visit a village with a production of a rare type of bread ( 4 cornered made by a lovely lady who had served as a maid to the dictator Salahazr) and a fortified wine called Moscatel. They were passionate people with a wonderful meal hosted by Mr Bean ( Portuguese style) and you leave the visit wanting to support the area and wishing it well.
Absolutely perfect and kept absolutely spotless- Those guys cleaning the room are unsung heroes and should be paid more
Lisbon is not as interesting as Porto - Sorry Lisbon
