We chose this cruise for the destinations. However, we barely had time to experience the larger ports. We missed Dublin entirely, because bad weather curtailed the tender operations. There were only a few hours in Edinburgh. It would be better to skip some of the smaller ports entirely (Saint Peter Port, and Kirkwall), and instead, spend two days in the larger destinations.
There were many covid cases on the ship, which was surprising, since proof of vaccination and a negative test were required. We caught covid and were quarantined. The care was mediocre at best. Fortunately, we had mild cases, since there were no antiviral treatments on board. We had to ask for a thermometer. After the first day or two, nobody called to check on us. My advice: quarantine in your own room, so that you are free to leave the ship and seek medical care ashore if you feel really sick.
The room was spacious and comfortable, though we missed having a small sofa, as on past cruises. Besides the bed, there was only one chair to sit on, unless we dragged in a balcony chair. We appreciated the small refrigerator. There was plenty of closet space. The bathroom, and particularly the shower, were small and cramped.
We took the all-day Giant Causeway excursion organized by Viator. It was very well planned, and the scenery is spectacular! Highly recommended, though as a result, we did not see much of Belfast itself.
