We were particularly interested in seeing the Normandy beaches where the allies landed. We are from the New Orleans area, and had toured the WW2 museum not too long ago. This itinerary peaked our interest mostly for that reason. Paris is, of course, marvelous. France is a beautiful country, and there is history and something to learn everywhere. Seeing Monet's gardens (Giverny) was amazing (even in the rain!), and I learned a lot more about Joan of Arc's story (Rouen) than I ever had.

But visiting the American military cemetery and memorial overlooking the beach was definitely the highlight. It is a beautiful place. Very emotional, and completely awe inspiring. Worth the trip, without a doubt. I would encourage any American who can visit to go. A great reminder of what so many gave up to fight a terrible evil.

Every Viking cruise that I have been on (both river and ocean) have been excellent. The level of care that the Viking crew shows each passenger is so impressive. I will definitely be going again, hopefully soon.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Cabins are tight on the river cruise ships because the ships themselves are not that big. But the room is comfortable, and they provide ample storage space, and everything you need for a good trip is there.
