Sail Date: May 2022

I chose this cruise because of the St. Petersburg stop, which, of course, was cancelled because of the war in Ukraine. I had booked this cruise on Crystal for 2020. It was postponed to 2021 and then 2022. Crystal went bankrupt in January 2022. Having been on Viking on the Yangtze River Cruise, we thought we would try Viking on the same itinerary. This time we were on a Viking vessel (as opposed to the leased vessel in China). The room was spacious, and the room stewards were meticulous in cleaning and were most accommodating. We appreciated the daily Covid testing and that Viking had a lab on board to facilitate the testing of over 900 passengers! What stood out is the amazing food. The specialty restaurants, especially Chef's Table, were innovative with spices and presentation. When not in the specialty restaurants, we opted for the casual cafe where the seafood, roasted pork, roast beef, roasted chicken, etc. were unparalleled in tastes. Breakfast had many choices as well. The land tours were fine. Nothing stood out there.
