Choose this cruise because Northern Lights viewing was on my bucket list, as was a cruise experience. Read material provided by Viking and compare to other cruise lines...picked Viking because it offered more bang for the buck. My only criticism is that two ports of call that were promoted were skipped due to weather issue. And while I understand that Viking can't control the weather, I came to understand that those ports were routinely skipped due to chronic weather issues at those posts at this time of year. So if likelihood of skipping ports is high...why are this routinely promoted?

Aside from that minor issue, the cabin, the service, the food and the entertainment were all first-rate. And the included tours and the ports that we called upon were also superb. We did optional Sami experience and one port which was very inspiring. Oh, and while there was a great deal of cloud cover during the voyage...we did get to see the Northern Light!
