Our cruise was as good as it gets. Great service by the Viking staff on board, especially the cruise director. The food was excellent and so were the various guides at each of the excursions. Normandy was somber but as a Vietnam ERA Veteran, it was an experience I will always treasure. Paris tours and excursions were also excellent. We saw all the major highlights of Paris including the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Palace and Gardens of Versailles, Notre Dame (from the outside as they are still working on reconstruction from the fire) and many other churches. The guides were very informative about the history and significance of so many of the areas of Paris. At Normandy, after seeing a short movie on D-Day and touring the visitors center, we toured the cemetery where 9400 American soldiers are buried and there was a short ceremony for us veterans. We also drove down to the beaches where the battle was described. It was a very moving experience.
