We wanted something different and didn't want a transatlantic flight. Our journey to the Great Lakes region fit the bill. It was so much fun watching the reaction of those on shore as we sailed by in our magnificent ship.

If you don't want to be immersed in an educational experience, this may not be your itinerary. The ship itself was so fascinating, as was the lab measuring microscope plastic in the waters. Loved getting wet during my Zodiac ride, looking for bird species ( they were hiding from us) and playing amateur scientist. A very different kind of cruise-our 5th on Viking.

The entertainment at the lounge was very good and included a sing-a-long one night. Yes, there were generous "pours" at lunch and dinner. Much to everyone's surprise, we hit a couple of serving restricted areas for libations. Now that was not fun for some-of course you could bring your own spirits on if you wished. Love Viking!!!

Port Reviews

The tender was smooth and efficient. Plenty of shopping available dockside. The area was very clean and friendly.
