Some may read this comment and think, it won’t happen to us and book a trip. The script below is a very small summary of what has been sent to ABTA, the actual complaint is some three pages long. If you really want a luxury holiday, avoid the Emerald Azzurra and book something else. There is plenty out there and if it goes wrong maybe their customer services will look after you, Emerald did not and in my opinion do not really care.
We paid for this luxury super-yacht experience that gives you a billionaires lifestyle, as advertised and mentioned by Emerald's Chief Operating Officer and UK Sales Director. We did not receive this experience. This yacht should not have sailed. The sailing was pushed back a day because containers hadn't arrived with furniture, towels, robes and other important items. These were then purchased from Ikea and Jysk. Our cabin had missing furniture and amenities. The deck had missing furniture. Bars weren't open, other rooms weren't open. All the facilities and luxuries advertised were not available. Cold running showers and showers not draining were a regular occurrence. Odours of cooking in our cabin, sewage smell in the dining room and coorrridor. We were ‘thrown' off the yacht onto a coach for over 8 hours as a container had arrived with some furniture. The whole holiday was a farce with more and more things going wrong every day. We spent more time in hotels and on buses than on the cruise. There was certainly a complete loss of enjoyment, in fact no enjoyment. Emerald Azzurra failed to deliver.
88 days later and still no resolution.
