We chose this cruise as we were keen to try Provence and we were not disappointed. After two years of cancelled holidays and uncertain times, this cruise was a perfect return to river cruising. From the Captain, who was so approachable and turned his hand to anything, to the delightful cabin steward who came twice a day, every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and efficient. They all worked their socks off.
The ship is pristine, the food was excellent and the ports were a delight.
Emerald seem to have a great recruitment system and HR department, certainly all the staff work well as a team, seem to love their jobs and engage with passengers in a very special way. Nothing is too much trouble, everything is done with a smile and I couod see no cost cutting.
Cabin Review
The cabin is compact, but so well laid out and thoughtfully planned. We fund there was ample storage, cases fitted under the bed. The shower was great, hot with powerful flow and sensible sized toiletries and fluffy towels.
We really love the semi balcony to sit and watch the river bank. It was extremely hot whilst on the boat but the air con is very efficient.
