Sail Date: Jun 2022

June 2022 - My wife and I have been on numerous cruises (25+) throughout the world on various cruise lines over the years. This was our second river cruise on American Cruise Lines. Our Columbia and Snake Rivers cruise started on June 9 in Clarkston, Washington.

Our flight from Florida arrived a few days early, June 6, so we could enjoy the Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA areas. We stayed at a very nice Holiday Inn in Clarkston. The hotel was on the Snake river; an excellent location. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly; the hotel included a great restaurant. On our first full day, we rented a car and drove around the area visiting the Nez Perce National Historical Park and driving along the Snake River towards Hells Canyon. We took the Hells Canyon Jet Boat Adventure, a pre-cruise trip offered by the cruise line. It was well run, included a nice lunch and was very well narrated. Hells Canyon is a beautiful area; we experienced it from the boat and also partially from our rental car.

Boarding the American Harmony was very easy. We were tested for COVID 19 in the hotel and boarded the ship from a dock just outside the hotel.

Cabin Review

Nice sized room ... larger than in many larger ships
