Ok- I love Norwegian but this just isn’t their best. So far, we’ve made it to Maui. Which is a whole other post.
First, COVID understaffing. I get it. NCL sent an email that they were understaffed and two restaurants were not going to be open. Fine. But NCL should have said that many of the bars would not be open and the pool restaurant as well. NCL should have at least offered a discount since we paid thinking it was all 100%.
I don’t know about the staff either. The experience just doesn’t feel right. Many of them are new, but the level of customer service isn’t up to NCL standards that I’ve experienced before. The service is slow (understaffed), the food good, cabin was nice and kept clean (but never saw the attendant). I miss the friendliness and attentiveness of the other NCL ships.
Good lord. It’s a port. Lots of security. There’s no welcome wagon. There’s no helpers to guide you.
When you get off the ship you walk about 7 minutes to the main road where there is a shopping center. You can pick up an Uber/Lyft there. Depending on the driver, s/he can bring you to the ship on return.
NCL could spend a few bucks and jazz up their area.
