We were originally scheduled for June 2020 on NCL Joy and booked this trip only 30 days out as a “let’s go” last minute type of thing. Cabin 11802 (category M1) balcony mini suite mid ship was amazing. My GF has been on about a dozen cruises and said this cabin/bathroom/balcony were bigger than expected. I never felt cramped with two people. Like many other first timers I packed too many clothes. Our steward gave us a free laundry bag to fill on day 4. What we sent to laundry would have costed about $70. Even though it was complimentary, I think the $70 for laundry would be worth it on another trip in order to pack less. As a first timer, I had minor concerns about sea sickness but never had a problem even with two full days of rough seas.
Entertainment: The Jersey Boys and Six were legit first class productions. We have a Broadway actress in the family and know what an outstanding production is like. Sonja Selbie was a great singer and entertainer. Levity comedy was hilarious and they did have 9pm over age 18 nights which was nice.
The silent disco was fun although a little crowded for the smallish venue “The Social.”
Bigger than we thought. Comfortable. Plenty of storage space although most was low to the ground. You would definitely need the space below the couch if more than two in the room.
After one cruise I cannot imagine a cabin without a balcony wherever the trip may go. Our cabin steward was attentive. Deck 11 was 3 decks above and 4 decks below public areas which was great. Noise was at a minimum.
