My Husband and I have been fans of Royal Caribbean for some time (we are now Crown and Anchor diamond guests). When planning a family vacation for 13 people we chose an Alaska cruise out of Seattle on Quantum of the Seas because of our great past cruises. We booked 2, 2 bedroom grand suites and a regular grand suite. The cruise unfortunately did not live up to our expectations.

Our first indication that things were not quite right after the pandemic was the embarkation. As other posters mentioned, we had to jump through hoops to test and provided documentation for RC and no one really looked at it. We were all herded into and crowded upstairs waiting area (so much for social distancing) and waited 1 hour past our boarding apt. time. It was a massive free for all when the doors opened. I really was worried about the elderly disabled folks in wheelchairs because there were folks pushing and crowding through the one open double door. So that was the start of our vacation and our first impression.

Pros:

Cabin Review

Grand Suite with Balcony

Great suite, Large wrap around deck and 2 bathrooms

Port Reviews

Beautiful scenic area… lots of melting ice and icebergs so we couldn’t get very close
