We have done this cruise many times on NCL, but this was our first time back since the pandemic. Like everyone else we were just so happy to be on the cruise, most were repeat customers lots of people from Massachusetts.

There was lots of hoops to jump through and lots of nail biting because of the pandemic, getting tested four days before, e-mailing the results and vaccination records to Bermuda and waiting for the authorization from the island. Then getting tested again two days before and printing everything out and bringing it with us to show at the pier. We know enough to get to the Falcon pier on the later side to avoid a crowd, but we were nervous with all the paperwork and figured it would be slow. We came a bit earlier, around 12:30 rather than 1:00pm. We had to wait in a short line to show all our paperwork, then off to show the policeman our passport and then we were let upstairs to security and check-in. It was about an hour total.

The ship was in wonderful condition, it looked like they had been cleaning and painting for years, which is probably the truth. The staff was thrilled to be working again, and back in Boston. They wore masks the entire time they were on duty. The service was incredible with only half as many passengers 1100 rather than 2400. The food was excellent everywhere we went, we enjoyed it all. We had a wonderful dinner in LeBistro. They have a new seafood medley which was the best thing I had all week. The service was perfection.

Cabin Review

The color scheme reminds me of the 1970's, lots of dark wood and beige walls, it was not a great look then and is dreary to look at. The closet is too small, and placing the safe where it is makes it even smaller. The open shelves are not as useful as the cabinets that were there before. The bed was very comfortable and so was the couch. In this cabin the bed is closest to the balcony. It did make more room to get into the closet, when we stayed in a Club Balcony along the side of the ship the bed made it very difficult to get into the closet.

The balcony in this aft cabin is a bit larger and the two chairs with cushions were great.

The updated bathroom is a huge improvement. The tub has been removed and there is now a roomy walk in shower. The brighter walls in there make it seem even larger. The unique ultra modern sink is also roomy.

Port Reviews

Bar Harbor

We have been to Bar Harbor before, we did not get off the ship this time. It was cold, and people said not much was open since the season had not begun. We enjoyed our day on the quiet ship.
