Went on this cruise after postponing from April 2020 cancelled cruise. Tried to reschedule the original cruise twice with some optimism, but Covid didn't cooperate. Scheduled this particular date and ship because wife's family was going on it and they asked us to join them. We had cruised on Oasis in 2013 and wife wasn't a fan (I was OK with it, but times have changed). Well, we regret the decision to go on this ship.
Embarkation was a bit of a joke. We waited at the airport for over an hour for the transfer bus to arrive. Scheduled a 1:00-1:30 check in time, and glad we gave that much leeway - the transfer bus issue caused us to arrive at 12:55. Having a suite, we had a +/- buffer, but it did didn't have an effect. And we were told that a Junior suite didn't count when it came to the verrrry long line to get in the building (people checking passport and covid vac/test paperwork), even tho several places on the web site and other paperwork said it did. But once in the building, it did get us in the suites check-in line - where is the consistency ?? It really didn't take as long as i was expecting, but did take quite a bit longer than pre-covid times. Wasn't given our Seapass cards and didn't know how to get it, even after asking several employees (they didn't know). Found out when we got to the room that they were awaiting for us at the door - anyone could have grabbed them !!
After that, things were not bad for the most part, but not great.
The best thing about this cruise was the room. Our cabin attendant did fantastic, as we have come to notice that they are usually the most consistent at giving great service on our cruises. But the size of the room was perfect for our needs, and then there was the balcony !! We had room 9642, which is in the middle of the rear bumpout (starboard side). The width was good (1.5x of a regular balcony), but the depth of it because of the bumpout was great !! (probably about 8 feet deep, as compared to about 5 feet; the whole balcony was probably around 16x8 ?). Soooooo glad i grabbed this room when i had the chance !!!
