We picked this Alaska cruise for timing and length with our work schedules. This was my first time in Alaska and my partner's second. Alaska was amazing, the weather was perfect, the scenery amazing, people genuine. The cruise was overall was not five star. We had sailed with Silversea prior to Covid and I'm sure this had a lot to do with expectation versus reality. The pre Covid sailing with them was six star! That is why we picked them again for Alaska. Overall they seemed understaffed and undertrained. I'm sure they are having trouble getting staff just like every other company on the planet. We got an upgrade to a Silver Suite and the cabin was amazing. The Butler was good as was the included laundry service. The restaurants were always a cluster. The wait for food was crazy! Timing between courses took forever. Worst in Indochine, where the manager argued with us on what we told the waiter we had ordered?! The ports were touristy and the excursions were ok. We enjoyed exploring on our own the most. Drinks were good, entertainment in the theater was a bad High School Musical 2 cast reunion. They did have some duets that went in between restaurants and lounges that were good. We did the Denali extension which was very rustic! We did see Denali since the weather was clear! The rooms on the post cruise extension were very basic. Lisa the one in charge of Denali was amazing! Overall it was a good cruise and Denali was amazing to see!!
