We chose this cruise to celebrate two milestone birthdays with our family, all of whom are experienced cruisers and were expecting Celebrity to sit in a sweet spot between some of the more mainstream cruise lines and the more expensive luxury sector of the market. It's clear from a branding and marketing point of view that Celebrity aspires to hold this position within the RCCL group and within the wider industry.
Sadly our experience didn't come anywhere close to delivering on that promise.
I'd like to say here that the staff on the Silhouette would brighten anyone's day, they are warm, friendly and can't do enough for you. However there seems to be a real lack of experience and training which lets them down quite badly. For example on a 12 night cruise pre-dinner drinks (not a particularly complicated order for 6 guests) were delivered incorrectly on at least 10 occasions. The quality of said drinks was also totally inconsistent which made us wonder whether a serious measure of quality has been sacrificed to squeeze these into an 'all inclusive' model.
This cabin was well designed with a well optimised sense of space, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean.
