From the moment we boarded the Solstice until the day we departed, the crew of the Solstice gave us an exceptional cruising experience. Yes, as some people have said, the interior of the ship is dated and she is ready for her retrofitting to a Retreat vessel. But hat being said, some older furniture and a few carpet stains could not ruin our voyage. We ate in Luminae as we stayed in a Suite, and the staff bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed every meal. The food was fantastic, there was not one meal that did not satisfy our taste buds. The wine just kept coming and desserts, when we actually had some room, were awesome.
Entertainment was very good, theater on most nights not crowded at all for the first showing at 7:00. Happily there did not seem to be bar service in the theater during the shows. It is always just a distraction. You were free to bring in any drinks you wanted to consume from the various bars around the ship,.
Masks were politely required in the theater, casino and an board excursions, although some people chose to ignore the rules..
