My husband and I sailed back to back cruises aboard the NCL Epic on a 15 day Atlantic crossing in April of 2022 followed up by a 7 day Barcelona round trip. Although, this was not the first time we have sailed aboard the Epic I must say it was no less majestic than it was the first time we boarded the ship. We boarded in New York on April 2nd and embarkation was a breeze. We had already received our Covid test the day before in NYC and thereby saved ourselves some money than if we had obtained the test from NCL. With proper documentation and going to the right facility, it's free in New York. The 15 days crossing the Atlantic was very relaxing. It was nice having those to relax with 6 days straight at sea before arriving in Barcelona where we had a shore excursion scheduled everyday for 7 straight. The crew was as friendly as I remember them and the food was equally delicious. We ate a few of the specialty restaurants Like Le Bistro and Cagneys, in addition the Tepanyakis, Japanese Steak House. We also tried the Shanghai's Noodle Bar which is free but was new to us as we had never tried it before. It was delicious. So much so, that we went back a second time. The only disappointing thing to happen during the entire cruise was that we missed a port in The Azores due to weather, which is why we ended up spending 6 days straight at sea. Other than that it was a magnificent vacation. We had originally booked the cruise with a sail away inside cabin, but bid on a suite and was ultimately upgraded for both legs of our trip. In the end, it was still cheaper to pay for the less expensive cabin and pay for the upgrade. Fortunately, they accepted our bid and the cabin they gave us was beautiful. First leg of the trip they gave us Cabin Number 12076 which was more towards the middle of the ship which was nice because you didn't really feel the rocking of the ship. The second leg we were in Cabin 10261 which was not as centrally located and we felt much more movement than we had the previous 15 days. MY only complaint with the last cabin was that it had a bath tub instead of just a shower and at our age stepping in and out of a tub can be dangerous. I would have much preferred just the single shower over the tub. However, Both cabin stewards for each cabin were extremely nice and very friendly. The last leg of our trip was exhausting. We ran for 7 days with shore excursions that last on average of 8 hours each day. All other crew members were extremely kind and would go out their way to provide us with whatever we needed. We have sailed Norwegian many times in the past and have already booked two additional cruises with them since our return. Hands down, NCL is the best cruise line on the water.
Cabin has a tub with the shower. IF you are elderly, reconsider this room. I never felt safe getting in and out of the shower. Always felt like i was about the fall.
Very nice, Weather was good. Not too cold for April.
