My husband and I chose this cruise because of the Ports of call. We really wanted to sail through the Italian and French Riviera to see Nice, Portofino, Cinque Terre. We had never sailed MSC before and wanted to try it. The ship is beautiful! The staff were wonderful! Entertainment was some of the best we have seen on a ship! Combined, my husband and I have been on over 20 cruise ships. We love Spanish music and this ship had some every night. We had such a good time. The food was good, as to be expected. Nothing special to me, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I would sail MSC again.

We had a balcony cabin on the 9th floor and there was a lot of room to store your things. The bathroom and room in general were a good size The balcony was a good size for just the two of us and we enjoyed being out there very much. Our cabin steward was attentive and friendly.

My biggest complaint was Embarkation at the port of Cannes. I would never embark from here again unless they improve it. We arrived at the time requested but were kept waiting for over an hour, standing in the hot sun. There was no shade and nowhere to sit. It was awful. This is a tender port, so we had to tender to get on the ship, which is not a big deal. But I guess the port is so small, embarkation was just not good.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We enjoyed Barcelona. Sagrada Familia Cathedral is a beautiful work of art and a must see. The city is a beautiful and we really enjoyed our visit.

Genoa

We took a tour of Camogli and Portofino, which was great. I would recommend.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

We toured Cinque Terre and stopped in Monterossa. We took a small ferryboat ride past the other 4 tours and stopped in Porto Venere. Another beautiful trip and I would recommend this one also. I just wish we had more time to visit the other towns, but I know time is short on a cruise stop.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

I have been to Rome before so I was really looking forward to seeing the surrounding area of Civitavecchia like the Etruscan sites, but these tours were cancelled. We toured Rome again and it was just soooooo crowded. The city is beautiful and a must see for anyone at least once.
