Traveled with children

We chose this cruise because we enjoyed our experience 6 years ago when we sailed on it from Florida. We've been on 5 RCI cruises and like the vibe for families. The issues started prior to boarding:

1. Children's in terminal COVID tests took almost 1 hour. Rapid test results typically take at most 15 minutes but they made us wait 1 hour. Our son has autism, and and this was conveyed to the crew months in advance. Had to watch him sob for 30 minutes as they wouldn't let us on.

2. The ship was overbooked. If there is any concern for COVID it ends with small children as people were packed everywhere. Packed elevators (up to 15 ppl), massive crowding in the promenade, windjammer etc. If you enjoy spending time in Times Square this cruise is for you. Forget getting a lounge chair. 10 ppl per hot tub, lines for every activity.
