Sail Date: May 2022

We were due to join this cruise on Saturday 28th May after a flight from Heathrow. We live in Doncaster so have a 3 hour drive to the airport. Just before departing at midnight on Friday I got a text from BA to say the flight was cancelled. They refused to rebook us and said we should contact Emerald. (This turns out not to be correct and other passengers were rebooked by BA) We tried contacting Emerald but the emergency line was disconnected. We eventually in the early hours of Saturday contacted someone in Switzerland who had been contacted by a number of passengers. They said we would be contacted by Emerald. After further calls to Switzerland we were eventually contacted by Emerald at 2.30 pm on the Saturday. We were offered a flight on Monday evening. We asked to be rebooked on another departure but were told this was not possible despite losing 3 days of a 7 night cruise. It was this or lose all our money. (This is also not true after referring to ABTA)

We felt we had no option but to go. We arrived in Lyon at midnight on Monday. There appeared to be missing passengers so were not transferred to the ship until 1.30 am and reached our cabin around 2.30 am.

Once on board we were treated really well.Check in was quick and efficient and we were provided with food.

Excellent. Loads of storage and immaculately clean. Balcony makes it very pleasant.
