Sail Date: May 2022

My husband had always wanted to visit Iceland and we happen to find this cruise just 2 weeks before it sailed! The ship was only just over half full with passengers which made it more enjoyable since we didn't have to "fight" to get to the buffet, leaving the ship for excursions, and plenty of crew to help with any problems.

I do need to COMPLAIN that the internet was down for the last 3 days of the cruise! Every time we asked about the problem all we got was that it was being worked on, lame excuse. When you are in port, on a clear day, there is no reason why you shouldn't have internet excess for your passengers. We had paid top dollar for the unlimited streaming service so we were NOT HAPPY at all for no internet.

Also on this particular itinerary it shows that passengers would be "tendered" at the port of Edinburgh but we also had to be tendered into Shetland Islands, Alesund Norway, Akureyki Iceland, and Isafjordur, Iceland which is not mentioned on NCL site.

Cabin Review

we had a club balcony room and it was nice expect there is only 2 small drawers in which to put, socks, underwear, pants/jeans/shorts. The room attendant was great.

Port Reviews

Akureyri

Took the Akureyri Whale Watching tour and really enjoyed it. We did see 2 humpback whales though at a little distance; I guess it's only in movies or very rare occasions that whale actually come right up to the boat. Our young guide was very well educated on whales as she is a marine biologist. the whole crew as great and the skipper did all he could to get us up as close as possible to the whales and even went out a little farther than they usually do so we could find these 2 humpbacks on that particular afternoon.

Alesund

We took the Alesund Shore Excursion; The Ultimate Sightseeing Tour and loved it! The history and heritage at the Sunnmore open-air museum was fantastic. This is a reassembly of an authentic Norwegian village and the history of how Nordic people actually lived was great. We spent about an hour there and plenty of time to self export after an introduction by our guide. We then went onto the lighthouse in Alnes and I climbed up to the top of this working lighthouse and was rewarded by a great view. All the stops were great and the young guide was very informative. HIGHLY recommend this tour!!
