I chose this cruise because it had 210 passenger capacity. When I boarded the ship in Portland Maine, I was taken aback by the lack of maintenance and the shabbiness of the ship. For the price of the cruise I expected high quality amenities and staterooms that were updated. This cruise occurred 2 years after the onset of COVID. The testing for Covid was disorganized at the beginning of the trip. It didn't seem that the management staff were communicating well and knew what to do. At the time of the testing, 1 couple tested positive and was not allowed to board the ship. However that was the only time passengers were tested until others came up ill and tested positive. Then only people ill were tested. I felt we all should have been tested daily. We were not tested again until just before we were to enter Canada again from the USA. While the housekeeping and service crew were very attentive and did a wonderful job the Cruise Directors did not communicate well with the passengers as to the status of number of covid patients. It appeared that there were more than 1/2 the ship ill with Covid. My traveling companion and I decided to leave the ship after we tested positive so we could quarantine in the USA rather than Canada. The cruise director was snippy with passengers and could have had more patience with answering questions. I understand this was a trying time for her however, it is her job to assist passengers with questions and help all she could. The cruise line arranged for a bus to take passengers to Syracuse NY and arranged for hotel accommodations to quarantine. However it was at the guests expense and we were not advised of the arrangement. My companion just happened to overhear that this was available to anyone who wanted to leave the ship and asked about it. I will not recommend this cruise line to anyone. The 2 stars for for the housekeeping and serving crew.
