I bought 4 tickets for a Celebrity Alaskan cruise and 2-day land tour through Costco because of their offer of coupons. I really question the savings there when I consider the amount of time to get through to Costco Travel, never mind Celebrity. I remember holding for a long time in August 2021 to book this cruise, but finally being satisfied with a pair of connecting rooms. This reservation was held with deposits and full payments made punctually from August 2021 until a few days before we were to depart when by chance, I went back online to rerun luggage tags and discovered our rooms had suddenly been switched to opposite sides of the ship. I immediately called Celebrity and after being on hold numerous times and being transferred, I was told someone would call the next day. I was on this call with no satisfaction a total of 2 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES!!
I decided to call Costco the next day rather than wait. I WAS ON THIS CALL 3 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES to get my room issue resolved to a lower floor, right above the lifeboats, but at least connecting rooms. For my time and the downgrading of my rooms, I was given a $50 onboard credit.
Most of the cruise itself went well. The scenery is amazing on an Alaskan cruise, but getting off the ship, our luggage was not put on the bus. Our tour director told us he repeatedly called the shipyard, etc., but was not able to locate our bags until the following day. Since we were in a fairly remote part of Alaska, we were not able to purchase pajamas, make-up, get medicine, etc. The bags were located in the shipyard the next day and were at our room at about 9pm the following evening. Getting this resolution took a lot of time away from the enjoyment of the land tour.
