Emerald May be considered the best value in river cruises, but they completely exceeded our expectations in the ship, cleanliness, food, and excursions. The crew was really outstanding and exceptionally friendly and helpful - and that includes everyone! We could tell that they were happy and enjoyed one another and their jobs. The ship is modern with glass and mirrors (which are kept sparkling clean) and there was plenty of room - it never felt cramped. The food was excellent. Breakfast and lunch is buffet style and dinner is served to you. There was always multiple options on the menu to choose from during dinner. At lunch, they often had a carving station - lunch often felt like dinner! Every night they offered a new white and a new red wine from Portugal. We like that this is an all inclusive cruise line including wine, tips, excursions, etc. Drinks outside of meals were on your own. They also offered fun onboard activities and presentations. And we enjoyed going thru the locks. Would highly recommend.
