Sail Date: May 2022

The only reason for the one star was mainly the food. Otherwise we had a great time and enjoyed the ship. This was the third time we have been on the Panorama recently. First time was the end of October Last year, second time was the end of January this year. We cruised on other cruise lines in between but we kept coming back to Carnival because of the fantastic prices and living near the port means we don't have to fly or make a long road trip. First time the food was OK and the ship was only around 25% capacity which we liked. Second time the food was better and the ship was fuller but still reasonably quiet. This time the food was a disaster and the ship had over 4,000 guests. It was a little too busy and made it difficult to get seats for the shows, finding a seat at a bar and long lines at guest services.

EMBARKATION: Embarkation with Carnival in Long Beach is always a challenge. The verifly app maybe helped knock 5 minutes off but the main issue is the huge line at the check-in desks. Maybe if Carnival paid to knock down the totally impractical geodesic dome and build a proper cruise terminal things would improve dramatically.

THE SHIP: The Panorama is a beautiful ship with understated décor and a nice Caribbean feel to it. Gone are the days of Joe Farcus' gaudy colors and garish décor!
