We chose this cruise so we could visit many wonders of the world such as the Great Pyramids at Giza, The Valley of the Kings, and Temple Abu Simbel. The chance to see all of these ancient places and have a wonderful professional Egyptologist to point and explain many of the finer points provided us a vacation of a lifetime. Secondary to seeing the many wonderful sights was being transported between them on the SS Sphinx. The cruise ship experience was excellent, everyone on the ship worked very hard to see to any and all needs of the guests. I had a camera failure and the ships engineer volunteered to take my camera apart and attempt a repair - that is service above and beyond normal. The repair failed and our Egyptologist guide went with me into the town where the the ship was docked to look for a replacement camera. This was another example of a person dedicated to his work and helping the guest of the ship have the best experience possible. The four members of our travel group all had the highest regard for our guide [Hazem Khalaf]. His knowledge of Egypt was beyond believe - he never failed to answer any question any one of our group may have asked. The complete experience was wonderful and I would recommend this cruise package to anyone interested in seeing the ancient sights of Egypt. Make sure you ask which cruise Hazem will be on - You will not be disappointed.

Cabin Review

French Balcony

My biggest complaint about the cabin was its small size. Even for this level of cabin, the size needed to be a little bigger. It seemed smaller than a similar cabin we had when we sailed the Seine River in France with the same company. I wished that I had purchased a larger cabin since it was impossible for me to be seated in the chair and my wife get by me without me having to get up and move. This is not really a cabin issue but more of my issue with not purchasing a larger cabin but I thought people should understand this.
