I saw the Carnival Miracle departing San Francisco on it's first scheduled service from the City as a new home port. The ship looked attractive, I went home and looked up the ship, found this itinerary, the price was right, so I booked it on the spur of the moment. I live about ten minute walk from the San Francisco terminal, I don't have a car, so I welcome another ship home based in San Francisco. It's great to just walk over to the terminal from my apartment and sail away!

This was my first time cruising with Carnival. I have sailed four times with Azamara, four times with Princess, and once with Holland America. The was definitely a younger age range on Carnival but I wouldn't characterize it as a "party" ship. I had heard bad things about Carnival from folks on the other lines, so I was a little bit worried, but decided to approach this cruise without expectations. Expect nothing, you won't be disappointed.

I slept soundly in my cabin each night, on the main deck quite near the Atrium. Despite being so close to the Atrium bar and live music, my cabin was quiet when I closed my door.

Cabin Review

Balcony

My cabin was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage. There was only one US electrical outlet and one European style outlet, so that could be a problem for folks with multiple devices which need charging. King size Bed was comfortable. Sound proofing between main deck and public areas below was good - I was unable to hear all the music and activity going on beneath me despite being near the Atrium bar.
