Cabin: Aqua Class Balcony

We chose this cruise as a way to go Europe. We thought it might be a relaxing way to start a 5 week trip. It did the job, although personally, we have decided that the TA cruise is better coming home than going to.

The checkin in Tampa seemed to be problematic - despite timed entry, we waited a long time outside in line. Thank goodness the weather cooperated, or it could have been a bad scene. The checkin process seemed disorganized - there was a door checkin, then another checkin and then the room checkin, that all seemed to be asking the same questions. I am really OK with the pre-cruise testing and certificates, but there should be a way to check them once!

The ship was great. It needs refurbishment, but it is sparkling clean, and the crew was great. We will be spoiled when we get back to full cruises - this one was only about 1/3 full.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class Balcony

Cabin was spotlessly clean, and our attendant was fantastic. We noted a foul smell in the bathroom that was attributed to lack of use of the sewage system. I thought the odor decreased during the trip - my wife did not. Other than that, it is a standard Celebrity M-class room, with minor amenity upgrades for Aqua class

Port Reviews

Barcelona is a gorgeous city. It has so many things to do. This was our endpoint. Disembarkation and a cab ride to the hotel was easy. We walked Las Ramblas; went to Parc Guell (don't bother with an organized tour); the Catalan National Musuem (worth a special trip); MACBA; did a tapa tour; went to Montserrat (be prepared to walk). On previous trips we have been to see the Picasso Museum, Joan Miro Museum and Sagrada Familia. You could easily spend a week and still not run out of things to see.
