This cruise had been twice booked and twice cancelled due to Covid. We were both vaccinated and double-boosted and decided to try again. The cruise was very decent. The ship was maintained well and clean. All staff and crew wore masks which I appreciated. Most of the cruisers did not. There were supposed to be staggered embarkation times, but something went way wrong. We were severely packed in while waiting over an hour to board the ship in groups. There were not enough hand-sanitizing stations around the ship - especially coming and going to the Casino of all places. They did try to get folks to wash up with soap and water in the buffet area, but many passed on by to get the plates and food. I didn’t like using tongs handled by everyone else, thought they were supposed to still be serving in the Buffet. The food was good in the there and varied. Cagney’s steak house was good but waiters annoyingly bugged us every 2 minutes to see if we needed anything. Ocean Blue food was excellent but way too much in each serving, and we hated wasting food. The balcony was small and nice to have. The weather was perfect and sea was calm almost throughout the entire trip. Only on the last night did we have some rough waters and were only slightly aware on deck 8 of any ship movement. There were good dance floors and good music. There was an excellent comedian/magician and a good Burn the Floor dance show. The port stops were very good and overall easy getting on & off. The Shore Excursion folks didn't get the message early on that our itinerary was changed and gave what turned out to be faulty information. The Costa Maya beach wasn’t very good, but the waiters hustled to keep everyone taken care of. This was our 21st cruise, 5th on NCL, and the first with a Wi-Fi tech who immediately and easily solved our connection problems. There was much passenger confusion over the Time Zone changes since the ship changed times prior to crossing time zones, and our cell phones did not change early. The Headliners room for Comedy Acts was very small, very crowded with very hard wooden chairs, no cushions. Once in there was enough. I appreciate all efforts to maintain health & safety and hope NCL and the others will continue to work on tweaking their sanitation responses. We will cruise again!

Cabin Review

Balcony

On this our 21st cruise, we decided it was time to try a balcony and loved it! The room steward was nearly invisible but kept our cabin clean and well supplied.

Port Reviews

Roatan

We had been to Maya Key, Roatan, several years ago and always wanted to return. This was added late to the Shore Excursion list, and I had already booked a different tour. I immediately cancelled that and booked this one. It is such a wonderful little island not far from the port. There are beautiful flowers, comfortable lounge chairs, good snorkeling, interesting artifact museum, and animals that cannot live in the wild. Although they are caged, they are well-taken care of. The best part is the wonderful lunch served to each tour. I would go here again and again. It's a lovely place to visit.
