Two years ago we found a good deal on an Alaskan cruise. Embarkation was fine. Main Dining Room Escargot not salty. Creme brûlée has custard consistency-great. Steak tasted like fish and was super thin. Windjammer food was okay.Jaime Oliver’s was great. Wonderland was a true fun experience. What turned everything into a dumpster fire was when one of the crew had a medical emergency and they had to turn the ship around and sail 6-7 hours back so the crew member could be saved I am all for that but I did not expect them to cancel all the excursions for Juneau. The only thing we got was a refund on the excursion we had paid Royal Caribbean for. We were so upset we didn’t get off the ship. The next day we were supposed to to see Dawes glacier from the ship ,but it was fogged in so we have been to Alaska have never seen a glacier and we did not see Juneau even though it was on the itinerary. We went to Skagway and took the white pass train this was enjoyable sit on left side for first look. Then went on to last stop in Old Victoria signed up for Butchart Gardens this is not to be missed. It was beautiful the tulips were still blooming the roses not yet. Saw two shows Live Love Legs and Pixels . Shows were pretty good but the sound system was too loud you could not distinguish which person was singing the volume was turned way up. The disembarkation went smoothly
We had room it was a balcony in the middle of the ship. You could barely feel the ship move. The lady cleaning our room took very good care of us. She made the most adorable bear out of towels.
Cancelled all excursions ship got there 6 hours late
The train ride was enjoyable but I found it somewhat frustrating when I went to the back of the cabin to take a video and one couple would not share there space they stayed there the whole time and would let anyone else share the space.
Butchart gardens was worth the price of admission. We we’re there at the very end of May and the tulips were still blooming. Roses do not come out until later in June.
