Royal Caribbean have now introduced a fifty five dollar covid testing for every passenger doing a back to back cruise. Although it had cost us sixty euros for both of us to get a covid test at Rome airport to embark on the cruise in the first place, RCL have now introduced this extortionate charge for passengers doing a back to back cruise (two one week cruises in our case). So please be aware of this extra charge that we were not warned about in advance. We have booked a family cruise in July and the covid tests will now cost us over six hundred pounds for eleven of us.

This was the first time The Rhapsody has sailed since covid and it showed with all new inexperienced crew, who did their best under challenging conditions. Our experience on the Rhapsody of the Seas has been difficult for both passengers and the waiters whose first experience of working in the dining room was on the first night of the cruise. The queues for dinner snaked past the customer services desk. We queued for and hour to get our table although we were booked in for the eight o’clock sitting, it was well after nine when we sat down. We felt very sorry for the waiters as they were under impossible stress. Other evenings have been chaotic still queuing for ages, cold food no cutlery. The bars have no draft beer and very little in the choice of bottled beer. All in all it has not been a good cruise.
