This past April I once again had the pleasure of sailing with The American Cruise Lines--this time on the American Spirit touring the Puget Sound & San Juan Islands. While on past cruises with ACL I frequently heard other passengers remarking how they loved this particular cruise so when I had the opportunity to go--I grabbed it! And I was not disappointed. From beautiful scenery to fabulous food to friendly staff sailing with ACL can't be beat.
I started my trip flying with Alaska on a direct flight to Seattle. I ordered a driver to take me directly to the ship. Due to last minute work responsibilities, I had decided to forgo the pre cruise extra day the cruise line includes with all their itineraries. I already knew from previous ACL sailings that I was missing a good time & the chance to start mingling with the other guests plus the included sightseeing of Seattle before we are transported to the ship. Once I arrived at the ship I was given my pre boarding COVID test & my keys & my cruise had started!
Stateroom: Every time I open the door for the first time I am amazed at the size of the room. I always go with an AA category room which I have found to be more than enough room for me. But an AA category room with ACL is SO much more than your big cruise ships. There was a king size bed, large seven drawer dresser, 2 comfortable sitting chairs, closet, 2 night tables and a 4 drawer dresser with a large TV on it in the main part of the cabin. I loved that I had a balcony with seating for two even though I could only sit out there a few times during the cruise due to the time of year I sailed. And the bathroom---OMG the size of the bathroom just blows my mind when I see them---they are huge with a large shower and vanity with several more drawers for storing my stuff. I have to say I did not need all the storage space they offer--and again--this was only an AA category size room. I did manage to peek in the higher category rooms and was quite impressed!
