This trip was to celebrate my and my husbands retirements. We started planning about 5 years ago, and decided to begin our adventure with a 14 day repositioning cruise, so booked the RC Allure about 9 months in advance of the trip. We were surprised and excited to hear that RC was changing itinerary, and that we were being moved to the brand-new, largest ship in the world! We did a lot of research ahead of the trip and here are some recommendations and a few (very few) critiques.

First, remember that this is REALLY a big ship, in 2 weeks I'm sure I didn't see it all. But because of this you may not want to go for a room at either end of the ship. Originally we were booked into a forward facing ocean view cabin and were fairly okay with this. However we learned of the Royal Up program and bid on a balcony cabin and got one. This cabin was just at the AFT end of Central Park on deck 10, so in a very central location. I think this the best area to be, it's not too far to any location once you leave your cabin.

The cabin itself was 'cruiseship-sized', haha... but honestly there was Plenty of storage for our clothes, toiletries, etc. We try to really keep our cabin very tidy, and since there was basically a place for everything this was very easy. There are now hooks on the wall for hats, backpacks, etc. Very handy.

Cabin Review

The cabin, as stated above was just right, and the stewards did an excellent job.
