The ship “Queen Elizabeth” is a wonderful vessel with good ambience and there was plenty of general seating. The food was good and the service was mostly very professional. I felt there could have been a little more feedback from the captain.
Our main complaint is with the cruise relates to the itinerary and our other feedback is to do with the ship’s choice of music and entertainment.
Cunard mislead us for our Northern lights cruise stating we were in Tromso and Narvik overnight when we actually left at 1.00am which is not overnight. Had our snowmobiling tour which was not booked with the ship gone ahead we would have been left behind stranded. A 5/6 hour window is not enough to see the Northern lights which was the whole object of our cruise, we should have spent 3 nights in Tromso and Alta to give us a good chance of experiencing them properly. Instead we were taken to a non tourist area like Narvik where there was nothing to do and ended up with us being ripped off by a shocking unprofessional and unsafe husky sledding tour sold to us by Visit Narvik, they are clearly not geared up for tourism. And to add insult to injury the receptionist was downright rude to me, when I enquired after finding out only on the cruise that we were leaving Tromso not long after midnight. There were many very angry people on-board and lots of complaints which was clarified by the reception manager. The food was not bad overall, some of the entertainment in the theatre was good mainly “The Revolvers” which brought us all back to life, otherwise there was little to do, most people sitting and reading or taking their own entertainment like cards or scrabble. Not a happy customer.
very scenic place - well worth climbing the hill for the scenic view
arrived at 7:30 am and left at 2:00pm - waste of time
