I took my mother on an Alaska cruise as this was dream of hers. She is 82 years of age, and most likely will not be able to take another cruise. I booked the cruise and excursion based on her agility to get around. The Alaska trip offered the most for her to enjoy.
The Crown Princess should never have sailed. The ship was plagued with engine issues before we even left the port.
Our ports of call was change 3 different times, twice while out to sea. We skipped Juno, the other 3 ports we arrived so late, most of the opportunities to see the sights or do the excursions were canceled. The time allotted to explore was limited to 4 hours or less. Due the lateness of our arrival to the ports, stores were already closed or closing. What a bust... I would have been happier to book a car and traveled on my own schedule.
The room was nice overall, except when trying to sleep. The engine issues cased everything to rattle. We had issues with the toilet not flushing and our tub backed up the first time we used.
We loved the balcony and the view we had of Glacier Bay.
