My husband and I don't travel much and don't spend a lot on doing so. We recently decided that life is too short and it was time to see some of the world. We chose this cruise as part of a promotion and that it probably wouldn't have a lot of kids running around. We also liked Carnival's COVID safety protocols and the cruise destinations. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed. There were literally no shows on this cruise. There were activities, but definitely mediocre, most I would rate a 3 on a 10 scale. There was some entertainment, but the best was a small cover band that played in the lobby for 30 minutes once or sometimes twice a day. The focus of this cruise seemed to be alcohol (which they pushed everywhere you went) and partying. The excursions were okay, but by the time you finally got there, there wasn't much time to enjoy yourself before having to come back. I will say that the one thing Carnival does have going right is Half Moon Cay, their private island was very nice to visit.

I also wasn't aware that while Carnival has rules against illegal drugs, they don't enforce them. People were smoking/vaping marijuana everywhere we went.

I am fine if people want to be a part of the LGBTQ community, however, to feel like the minority on a cruise because of this is not what I signed up for.
