The cruise was quite good. The ship was in incredibly good shape, the tour directors Edward and Max were excellent. great guided tours on land.Excellent lectures by astronomer Dr Brad Hughes and historian Dr. Bazin. The fjord cruise to Flam was breathtaking. The food was excellent and the crew was incredibly polite and friendly. On our last day, Thursday we interpreted from the brochures that we would see Bergen. In fact, the ship docked at Bergen during the night, and we were on a bus to Bergin airport at 8am. Really seeing nothing of the town.

The return home was a nightmare, And I would strongly suggest you do everything possible to book a direct flight home or a 3-4 hour layover between connecting flights. Viking booked our flights home with a 1.5 hour layover and it is not sufficient given all of the delays that may arise. We flew SAS from Bergen to Copenhagen but mechanical problems on this plane delayed takeoff and caused us to arrive in Copenhagen 1.5 hours late. Our connecting flight in Copenhagen to Boston also SAS did not wait. Not much good to say about SAS. So they sent us to the Transfer Center who booked us on a Swiss Air flight to Zurich, with a connection Zurich to Boston. And yes our flight arrived late due stormy weather and we were too late for this Swiss Air Zurich to Boston flight. Once again we were sent to the Transfer Center in Zurich airport where there were 200 people in line (i counted) and we waited three hours for rebooking to Boston on Swiss Air. Serving this group of 200 people was ONE customer service agent , we were in one of those labrynthene lines that moves at a snails pace. We were economy class, hence the on CS agent for 200 people. First class and busines whose line was generally around 50 people had three CS agents, BRUTAL They did give us an overnight at a pretty nice airport hotel and booked us on a flight the next day. To top it offthe day after returning home I got COVID. I was good about wearing my mask at the airport , but very few were wearing a mask. Viking was very, very god about testing everday, so no complaints, in fact kudos to them. In summary grear trip on the ship, nightmare return home
