This was the Royal Princess, Left Vancouver on 5/2/22 for a 12 night Alaska cruise. Princess changed the ship a few months before. This was the 1st cruise for the Royal in over 2 years and as such, there were a few bumps. The first couple of days the MDR dinner took over 2 hours, then it smoothed out and became more on target. The staff were EXCELLENT! All seemed to be excited to have a job and working again. The ship was clean and sparkled. Everyone on board had a positive attitude. We required Distilled water for CPAP machines and it was in our cabin when we arrived. Our cabin steward was very responsive to our needs. We are not high maintenance cruisers, and any requests we made, he took care of. Everything worked in our cabin and we had no issues. The only 2 items that we were not happy with was the quality and quantity of the food in the MDR and buffet. Not enough choices and quality was not that great. A minor issue in the bathroom: The butt-clinging shower curtain was a nuisance. Alaska was awesome! If you can only do one excursion, take the Greatest Catch trip in Ketchikan. You will be amazed! See how real Bering Sea fishermen make their living. That is a must do!

Cabin Review

We had a balcony cabin on the Aloha deck. Just a standard balcony. Nice and fit our needs
