We chose this cruise because of all the ports, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Sitka & Glaciers, Hubbard, Glacier Bay, Dawes Glacier in Endicott Arm. Unfortunately there was too much ice to get to Dawes Glacier and the ship was too big for Hubbard. We originally booked on the Sapphire and were moved to the Royal. I am not likely to book a Royal or it's same class again. The balconies are the smallest we have ever seen. They actually put a foot stool under the reclining chair when there was barely enough room to sit on the chair, not reclined, with your knees touching the front of the balcony. We ended up putting the table on top of a chair for standing room. The medallion app was great for opening the cabin door but that's about it. The Customer Service Desk was the worst we have encountered on a Princess Ship & we have been on 16 Princess cruises. I also prefer Traditional Dining because we like the same wait staff each night and even though we booked the same table on the first night, they did not honour our reservation for any night after. On the 2nd night they told us our table was full and unavailable for us ever. Other people were able to book their same table each night but they did not allow us to book after the first night. We had one wonderful wait staff and when we tried to book his section were told that his tables were fully booked. We found out later that he had one free very large table that was not fully booked so we were able to request that one most night. Apparently Dine My Way is actually Dine Their Way. The cruise staff were awesome with all their activities even though they were short 2 people.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

The room was great - the balcony was definitely sub standard. Our cabin steward was awesome.
