We chose this cruise because it was school vacation week and we wanted to take a cruise longer than a week. The ship itself was very clean and the staff were exceptional. The decor is a bit outdated, felt like a casino in the mid west. The outdoor pool is small. The deck layout around it very crowded. The solarium pool is also small. The activities on board were geared for an older crowd. The activities crew were great but there just was no variety to offerings. We had kids with us and the enjoyed the kids club and the staff but there wasn't much else for them to do. One basketball court, no arcade. The food in the dining room was just okay. We ended up eating most meals at the buffet instead. If you are 55-75 this ship is made for you. If you are younger, I would skip it.
I bid and got an upgrade to a family suite. Its the very front of the ship on the left side on floor 7. The room was huge. 2 bedrooms and a living room. It had a balcony but the front view is block. It also has two large front facing windows. The only downside was the anchor noise when we would reach a port. Very loud at 5am etc. BUT as a person who gets easily seasick, I was able to be in this room that moves a ton and survive with daily dramamine and patches.
We went on a Jeep tour to the national park and it was great
