This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska and first roundtrip from Seattle. I booked after receiving a great offer on a solo rate when this ship was moved from Australia to Alaska. This was the first sailing for the ship in 2 years and despite a few issues (late clarification on required testing & ArriveCAN and spotty internet for the first day or so), it was a great cruise. Alaska never fails to impress.
Many arrived at the pier unaware of the requirement to download and complete the ArriveCAN app. This caused a delay for some boarding the ship and Carnival eventually let many passengers on without completing it and were told to complete it once onboard. This became an issue when the internet service had issues early in the cruise. The bottom line is to download the app (or use the ArriveCAN website) to complete the form and get your QR Code prior to arriving at the pier.
The first sea day was a little rough, but not as bad as other cruises I have had over the years. Once we got to the inside passage, the seas were relatively smooth for the remainder of the trip
I had an inside cabin on Deck 10. It was perfect for a solo cruise and had quick access to the outside decks for viewing scenery & wildlife and only one floor above the lido buffet.
