We cruised in the past with royal carribbean, it was our first cruise experience and we enjoyed that one about 4 years ago!!! And yes high expectations for this recent one we had, last 2 years we had really sad an heavy life moments and we finally was making a trip to relax and enjoy at the same time celebrating our anniversary.. 1st. Beware of credit cards you use in the ship, make sure you don't need it for a while once you come out of ship and in case someone inside the ship makes a huge mistake!!! (See my comments in regards to it below), 2nd. Do not think things will get resolve right away!!! 3rd. Dont have high expectations ( not even our room attendant made us feel we were celebrating our special week ( see comments below)...were to begin!, 2nd night in the cruise my husband gifted me a new wedding ring that we purchased inside the cruise jewelry shop because of the amount we decided and we asked the jewelry person if we can switch credit cards to prevent our main c/c to be on hold for such a large amount he told us "no problem you go to guest services and they can do that" Awesome right?? Not really, we went the next day to guest services and asked if we can put the large amount in another credit card so we can have the credit card they had in file for any other purchases(excursion, dinners, gifts, jewelry, ect..) he said yes and swiped new c/c (charged it) for the large amount, as he was giving us the receipt he suddenly realized that he forgot to mention that the other large amount hold will also stayed like that in the main c/c they already had!!! ( both cards had the hold for the large amount) a desk manager came out spoke to us, nothing to be done until the next morning!!! 3rd day in cruise we are dealing with what we think can be resolve but nothing was resolve after us talking, calling and trying to resolve this matter before we disembark from the cruise (8 days of cruise) and today is a week that we returned and still on hold( I understand banks put holds too but no information from your service agent before swiping cards this could have been prevented) room attendant nothing special anything..not even one towel animal (other people around were getting them, we saw them as we walk past the rooms they were cleaning) we had that experience on the 1rst cruise) the spa made a cut between my husband's toes and we had to go to medic(husband is diabetic) big opening that kept him from water (pool & beach) for the next 4 days.. needless to say it was not what we expected I guess next in October is Norwegian cruises we will give them a try!!
