Princess was totally not ready for this cruise. To begin, there were customers standing outside for 3-1/2 hours in order to get to the check-in area. Once on the ship, there was not enough staff or trained staff to handle the 2,552 passengers. Waiting in line was a daily experience in many areas. Poor execution of excursions - not prepared, not researched and definitely overpriced. Excursions were too short for the area, especially Butchart Gardens. Many amenities that were customary for Princess were no longer available. Ie: Turndown service would only be applied if requested - does not happen automatically. A writing utensil was not provided in the cabin - when asked for it I was told “we no longer provide that”. Upgraded bath products were not given. Princess Patter was one page and only provided times and places of events - no descriptions. Lunch was not provided in the dining rooms on days when the ship was in a port - too bad for those that were not getting off the ship. Reservations for dining were required but in reality there still was a wait to be seated, sometimes for 1 hour. For one lunch session the dining area was closed right after opening because it was completely full. Information about the workings of Club Class were not provided. Club Class was an expensive upgrade but the only way to have a satisfying dining experience.
Very small for a mini suite. Couch was old and worn and should have been replaced. Bed was very comfortable and nice surprise to the old beds.
