I thought the Jewel was a very cute ship for a shorter family cruise. It was our first cruise back into post pandemic shutdown. It was the week before Christmas and the ship was beautifully decorated. It was my family's first cruise and the ship was just the right size for them to figure out as newbies. The length of the cruise was just right, not to long or too short for new cruisers as well. We did have a itinerary change from Grand Cayman to Bimini which was fine with us. We are just happy to sail. Bimini is still relatively underdeveloped and this can be a good thing. The beaches were pretty and the locals who helped you with taxi and golf cart rentals were very nice. We did go on a Sunday which meant that not a lot of shops were open. As this port develops, this will likely change.

Now back to the ship, albeit older, I thought it was a nice ship and we were enthusiastic to have less attractions so we could relax and just enjoy being on deck or in the solarium adult pool area. The crew were friendly and happy to be back. We managed to get a place at the chef's table and this was a great experience.

Everything in our balcony cabin worked as expected and there was plenty of room for us.

Bimini

If you are looking for a well developed city like port, this is not for you. If you are looking for a serene experience with beautiful beaches and simple souvenir shopping, this is the port for you. The locals are very nice. Sundays are not good port days for shopping but if you are a beach person, its perfect.
