Through much online Viking cruise (positive) search reviews, the small size of the ship, adults only and Octantis being an expedition ship Viking met what we were looking for in a cruise without the party time atmosphere of most other lines. With that being said, we decided to give her a try and we are certainly glad that we did as we were NOT disappointed. As a matter-of-fact Viking exceeded our expectations in every way on this journey. At embarkation were in awe at the stunning beauty of the ship from bow to stern and everything in between. Every detail on the ship had been thought out and executed beautifully. Additionally, the smaller size of the ship eliminated lines getting on and off the ship, waiting for elevators, or during meals. Meals! Well, the food selection and preparation were both excellent as were the specialty restaurants. Also, all staff members on board and off (Travel Agents and on-call staff) were clearly happy, helpful and knowledgeable which made the voyage that much more special. All-in-all Viking does a superior job in every aspect of making sure that each and every guest has an enjoyable and memorable adventure. In closing, Viking is now our cruise line of choice.
